Musée d'art moderne de la ville de Paris

The exhibition dedicated to Bernard Buffet (1928-1999) is the first great retrospective of his work in a parisian institution.
Considered one of the most famous french artist of the 20th century, he is also one of the most controversial ones. Since a few years, several exhibitions, namely abroad, have announced the start of a current reflection on Bernard Buffet. His very singular work and career have still not been elucidated by contemporary art history.
By organising this exhibition the museum has the ambition to propose another step in the re-reading of his work through a selection of a hundred paintings and many documents.
