This exhibition is neither biographical nor musicological. It interrogates the mythical dimension of Beethoven and studies the construction of a genious and of what genious is by inspecting its subtilities and paradoxes, fantasies and brilliance.

The exhibition path opens on the historical date of Beehoven's death in 1827 that represents the turn to glory and immortality. The visitor will gradually understand the prophetic, tragical and ideological dimensions associated to the genious of Beethoven. With each step, the exhibition questions the harmony or the distorsion between the « historical » Beethoven and its utopian figure.
